Are YouTube viewers being taken for a ride or was the safety of MTR commuters left to a driver who spent his time filing his fingernails, trimming his toenails and watching football on a tablet? A spokeswoman for MTR Corp said the driver in the video has been identified and questioned and a probe is under way.儲存倉 But the authenticity of the video, filmed by a hidden camera, is being challenged by a netizen who points out that the train is not seen to stop for 15 minutes and that there is no MTR journey that long. The video, which has more than 5,000 hits, shows a uniformed driver filing his fingernails as the train moves along. Minutes later, he sits back, lifts his left foot onto his seat and cuts his toenails. When there's a beeping sound from the control panel, the driver leans forward and pushes a button before once again turning his attention to his toenails. The driver is then shown watching a football match on a tablet, believed to be between Liverpool and Manchester United. He also digs into a bag beside him to put on his earphones. One of the web users responding to the video said he was told the driver has been suspended. Another said the video breaches privacy rules and the MTRC should c迷你倉最平ll in the police to stop further breaches. But one viewer doubts the video was taken during a train ride. ``The video is a fake,'' the viewer commented. ``The driver needs to stop the train every few minutes and has to step out to observe the passengers.'' But another countered this, saying since screen doors have been erected, the driver no longer has to leave his cabin. The owner of the clip claims there is further footage of what drivers do in their cabins and that more videos will be uploaded later. The MTRC - which had earlier been embarrassed by a video showing a driver reading and using a tablet - said the company is highly concerned about the latest incident. ``Drivers are not allowed to use their mobile phones for personal matters, but they can use them to contact the control room when necessary,'' a spokeswoman said. She said no CCTV is installed inside the cabin and the video's source and time and date are unknown. MTR Staff Association chairman Lam Wai-keung said the video owner should have immediately reported the case, instead of releasing the film to the public. ``How would the video owner feel if there was an accident that could have been prevented?'' kelly.ip@singtaonewscorp.com 儲存
